Q: How do I care for my magnet?
A: RideMagnetism™ flexible outdoor magnets retain their durability and appearance and protect the metallic surfaces to which you apply them. Please keep these tips handy to review periodically.

Storing RideMagnetism Magnets

  • Stack magnets in a warm, clean, dry, level place – always with the printed side up.
  • Avoid placing objects on top of the magnets.

    Preparing Magnetic-Receptive Surface

  • Before affixing magnets, ensure any surface treatments have hardened. Wait 90 days for paint, 60 days for clear coat, and 2 days for wax.
  • Clean the car’s surface and magnet with detergent. Then rinse and dry each.
  • Applying RideMagnetism Magnets

  • Affix to smooth, flat or gently curved metallic surfaces. Do not place over protrusions (decals, pin striping, etc.) or concave areas. There must be NO air pockets.
  • Do not apply magnets with curled edges that expose the magnetic side. Instead, put the magnet on a refrigerator and use other magnets to hold down the curled edges down. The edges should flatten out.
  • To reposition a magnet, completely remove it from the surface. Lift at sides, not corners, to remove. Do not drag magnets across metal surfaces.

  • The Elements and RideMagnetism Magnets
  • Do NOT use when the car’s surface temperature exceeds 160°F (71°C) or when atmospheric temperatures are below -15°F (-26°C).
  • Magnets are UV-resistant, so long-term sunlight exposure may fade the car surface behind the magnet less than normal.
  • Do NOT use on non-metallic body fillers, simulated wood grain siding. Magnets will not work on aluminum and plastic surfaces.

  • Cleaning RideMagnetism.com Magnets

  • To guard against moisture and dirt buildup between the magnets and the metal surface, remove magnets at weekly intervals. Clean both the magnets and metal surface with mild detergent; then rinse and dry each.

  • Important — General Caution

Applying any material to a painted metallic surface without following all instructions for use and care may result in damage to that surface. RideMagnetism keeps our magnet users informed to help prevent such consequences. By following these instructions, you can ensure top performance of your outdoor magnets. Failure to follow these instructions and tips may cause damage to the magnetic materials and/or the surface to which they are applied and/or failure of the magnets to maintain their hold. RideMagnetism will not be held liable for any damage caused by abuse, misuse, or failure to follow these tips and instructions.
